Prayatna Nepal successfully conducted a “Feminist Dialogue Series” on March 19, 2026 at Universal Cafe, Sukedhara, Kathmandu, under the project “Ensure the Access on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights of Women with Disabilities.” The program brought together 21 women with visual impairments and one woman with physical disability to create a safe and inclusive space for sharing experiences, challenges, and solutions.
Facilitated by Ms. Sarita Lamichhane, the dialogue encouraged participants to openly discuss the discrimination, abuse, exclusion, and social stigma they have faced in their personal and public lives. Participants shared lived experiences related to family rejection, violence, harassment, lack of accessibility, workplace exploitation, and barriers to safety and dignity.
The session also focused on collective reflection and identifying practical solutions to improve the lives of women with disabilities. Participants emphasized the need for self-defense training, reproductive health education, digital literacy, leadership development, counseling support, and customized skill-based training opportunities.
The dialogue series provided an empowering platform where women with disabilities felt heard, supported, and encouraged to advocate for their rights and well-being. The program concluded with a commitment to continue creating inclusive spaces that amplify the voices and experiences of women with disabilities.
